Brief content:  In the university textbook "GENERAL THEORY OF PHYSICAL CULTURE", a contemporary theoretical concept of human movement culture, as special philosophy of physical culture, has been offered to our professional and scientific public.
The textbook consists of five professional wholes: Introduction, Recognition, Comprehension, Evaluation and Epistemology.
In the part "Introduction", understanding of physical culture as completed views of general questions: physical education, sport and recreation, has been presented.
In the part "Recognition", physical culture has been defined as a special product of mixing biological heritage, historical development of human society and efforts of some people. Priority is given to culture, and after that to what is physical in it. The basic part, common to all its entities (physical education, sport and recreation), has been defined in ontological sense, as "physical ACTivity and WELLNESS created thanks to it".
In the third part, "Comprehension", some expressions which are used in physical culture, as a conceptual – semantic' field of physical culture, have been processed.
The fourth part, "Evaluation", deals with axiology of human physical activity in general, and particularly axiology in physical education, sport and recreation. The necessity of pre-evaluation of values in physical culture, especially sport, has been indicated.
In the fifth part, "Epistemology", the authors assume three basic elements in establishing sciences of physical culture: the name of profession, original idea(genus proximum), and structure of science. The authors insist on the essence of sciences of physical culture, which is built of: Philosophy of physical culture, Theory of middle scope, and Theory of motor activity. Considering two main directions in development of sciences of physical culture (differentiation and integration of scientific knowledge), the authors are followers of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary bases of sciences of physical culture.
