Curriculum 2021/22 onwards - Doctoral academic studies | |||||||||
In the course of the doctoral studies, the study program “Physical Education and Sports” was designed to offer first three compulsory and one elective methodological course in the first year of study whereas two of the seven elective courses are to be selected by students in both semesters of the second year of study. Once the students have completed the exams, they can start preparing their doctoral dissertations in the third year of study. The study program corresponds to a workload of 180 ECTS. The studies last for six semesters. The curriculum consists of compulsory and elective courses, independent research work and the preparation of a doctoral dissertation. The number of credits corresponding to elective courses and other elective contents of some compulsory courses is 50%. Elective courses are selected from an elective courses list, in agreement with the mentor, and in accordance with requirements of the research being conducted. The last year of study is intended only for conducting research work and completion of the doctoral dissertation. Before completing the doctoral dissertation, the student is obliged to publish at least one related scientific research paper in a renowned of international journal (SCI-grade journals, i.e., the list of the Ministry of Science). The procedure for applying for doctoral dissertation, preparation and defending a doctoral dissertation is determined by the Rulebook on Doctoral Studies. The specification of each course in the study program prescribes pre-examination obligations, their share in the total number of credits, as well as the manner of taking an exam, all of which is specified in the Course Catalogue of the doctoral study program.
