The Faculty organizes Doctoral studies entitled „Experimental research methods of human locomotion“ aiming at development of scientific field of physical education and sport, improvement of scientific and professional work, development of critical thinking, educating students for independent implementation of original scientific research, development of new technologies and independent scientific work.

Upon completion of doctoral studies, students acquire the professional title of Doctor of Science in Physical Education and Sport.

General admission requirements are prescribed by the Law on Higher Education and the Statute of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education. Detailed conditions and mode of admission / enrolment, organization of studies and the process of elaboration, evaluation and defence of doctoral dissertation are regulated by the Rules on doctoral studies of the Faculty.

The study program corresponds to the workload of 180 ECTS credits. The length of the study program is six semesters. The study program is realized in two distinctive modules: „Module of fundamental research of human locomotion“ and „Module of applied research of human locomotion“. Both modules have common core courses during the first year of studies. The study program contains obligatory and elective courses, study research paper and elaboration of doctoral dissertation for which the workload of students is expressed by the number of ECTS credits evenly distributed into semesters. The list of obligatory and elective courses with their contents is presented on the website of the Faculty. The Program specification of each subject provides exam prerequisites, their workload in the total sum of credit points, and the way to take the exam. 30 ECTS credits are allocated for the doctoral dissertation. This study program provides no no specific prerequisites for any of the courses.

A student is entitled to be awarded some ECTS credits when he attends different study programs at the same or another university. Doctoral studies at the Faculty can be attended by a student who graduated from academic studies at another faculty, with at least 300 ECTS credits and the minimum overall average grade 8.00 (eight). The candidates from another faculty, unless they possess the required knowledge for the study program of Doctoral studies, are required to take additional exams of the courses of Basic academic or Master academic studies.

The Faculty Council of Doctoral studies is in charge of the relevant matters of these studies.
